sPIRALS SHOOTING WITH MY OLE PAL OLIVIA
It’s been a long time since I stepped into a photo studio.
I used to live in those spaces—back in my Patternity days and earlier years working as an art director in London AND PRIOR TO THAT DUrIng MY FINE ART PHOTOGRAPHY BA.
But over the past four years, I’ve gone inward. I MOstlY stopped working with corporate brands, stopped chasing the next BIG PROJECT and slowly began returning to what truly moves me CREATIVELY.
BUT I didn’t realise how much I missed it—until I stepped into a new kind of studio.
Not a slick white box in the city, but a beautiful light-filled space in Batcombe, nestled in the Somerset hills.
It belongs to my very old friend, Olivia French—who I first met in my very first art direction job. Life has spiralled us both through many creative seasons since then, and it felt so special to reunite and collaborate again, both of us in newer, more tender phases of our creative lives.
As we chatted about creative transitions and changing identities, we captured new imagery for the SPIRALS website—and also some other nature-infused, spirally objects that may well find their way into an exhibition someday.
In the true spirit of the spiral—we’ll see where it leads.
